The journey to Hanover takes approximately 2.5 hours, depending on traffic conditions. The city center is traffic-calmed, and there is a paid bus parking area for tour groups.
Walk through the old town
We recommend meeting your guide at the main train station, where you’ll meet at the Ernst August Monument . Your guide will accompany you throughout the day, starting with an exciting, personalized walking tour through the vibrant old town of Lower Saxony’s capital. Hanover boasts a wealth of impressive sights, which you can choose from together with our guide. Immerse yourself in the history of the House of Welf and the city’s highlights.
Altstadt-Rundgang
The traffic-calmed old town with its charming alleys and historic buildings will take us approximately two hours, depending on which sights are important to you. The route will be individually tailored to your group’s interests. Possible sights:
- King Ernst August Statue: The great-great-great-grandfather of today’s Prince Ernst August of Hanover. The statue is a landmark of the city, with the famous inscription on the base: “To the father of the country his loyal people.”
- Kröpcke Clock: The historic grandfather clock from 1885 is now a well-known landmark and a popular meeting place.
- Leineschloss: Originally built in 1637 as the residence of the Dukes of Brunswick-Lüneburg, it is now the seat of the Lower Saxony State Parliament.
- Old Town Hall: Built in the 15th century in the Brick Gothic style, it is one of the oldest surviving buildings in Hanover.
- New Town Hall: A landmark of the city, built in 1913 in the Wilhelminian style. The inclined dome elevator ride is a special highlight.
- Market Church: Built in the North German Brick Gothic style, it is considered the most important church in Hanover.
- Ruins of St. Aegidien Church: Built in the 14th century, today a memorial to the victims of war and violence.
- Hanover State Opera: Learn more about the history and significance of this impressive building, built in 1852 in the neoclassical style.

We recommend a cozy restaurant in the Old Town for the entire group. Alternatively, our guide will share tips on charming little restaurants nearby during the walking tour.
Excursion to the Herrenhausen Gardens
No visit to Hanover would be complete without a visit to the magnificent Herrenhausen Gardens . Our guide will accompany you on a one-hour stroll through this impressive garden ensemble:
- Great Garden: One of the most important baroque gardens in Europe with ornate gardens and historical sculptures.
- The Blue Grotto: A masterpiece by the artist Niki de Saint Phalle , opened in 2003, with colorful mosaics, mirrors and bright colors – a special highlight of the Herrenhausen Gardens.
- History of Herrenhausen Castle: Learn exciting stories about the castle and its former inhabitants.

- Arrival: By your own coach or, if you wish, by a charter bus organized by us from Hamburg or Bremen.
- Duration: Minimum 8 hours, with lunch at least 10, including arrival and departure.
- Group size: Ideal for Old Town tour up to 25 people per guide.

- Flexibility: The day trip can be individually adapted to your wishes.
