Sabine

Our cheerful Rhinelander in the Altes Land

Sabine, our cheerful Rhinelander, has chosen the Altes Land region near Hamburg – and couldn’t imagine a better place.

Together with her husband, they turned their own historic farm into a showcase project before turning their attention to dilapidated buildings in the neighborhood, transforming them into lovingly designed vacation homes. The constant interaction with vacationers ultimately sparked a new idea in her:

“She wanted to work as a tour guide herself.”

After completing her training in Jork, Sabine was unstoppable. Outfitted in a traditional costume, she proudly guided tours through the Altes Land region, the southern Elbe region, as far as Cuxhaven and even Heligoland, as a newly minted “Altländerin.” But that was just the beginning. True to the motto “City air sets you free,” she completed additional training in Stade and Hamburg and became a member of the Hamburg Guides.

Today, Sabine guides her guests through Hamburg and the Altes Land region on foot, by bus, or by bike with enthusiasm, expertise, and a generous dose of Rhenish charm. She particularly enjoys taking her guests on bike tours to introduce them to the beauty of her adopted home—be it the picturesque landscape, the regional customs, or the endearing quirks of its residents. Sabine knows the country and its people like no other, can find the right key for a special church or museum, and is a welcome partner at the various orchards.

In our team, Sabine inspires us with her unusual tours. The village stroll through Jork, which she developed, is among the favorites, as are her themed tours, by bike, in a limousine, and on foot. Her bus trips to Hamburg are also extremely popular. And sometimes she even gives her guests a recipe from her adopted home—because Sabine loves to cook regional specialties and share them with her guests.

With Sabine, every tour becomes a special experience. Let yourself be swept away by their warmth, their knowledge and their enthusiasm for the Altes Land and Hamburg!
